Obama's fourth veto secures unionization rules

WASHINGTON — President Obama vetoed a congressional determination trying to topple new unionization voting guidelines Tuesday, keeping set up systems that will permit a more streamlined procedure for laborers to vote to unionize.

Republicans said those new principles would take into consideration "snare decisions," and attempted to move back the new National Labor Relations Board principle with a congressional determination of dissatisfaction.

It's the second veto of the year for Obama, and the fourth of his administration. More vetoes are certain to come: the White House has issued 17 particular veto dangers on bills working some way or another through Congress, and a few regardless others being drafted in council.

With Congress out of session for its Easter break, Obama issued a "pocket veto" of the determination. However as he's carried out twice some time recently, he likewise sent the Senate a veto notification "to leave most likely the determination is being vetoed."

The determination passed the Senate 53 to 46 and the House 232 to 186, with all Democrats and three Republicans voting no. Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress could even now override the veto, despite the fact that Republicans are well shy of the 66% larger parts important.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said the veto demonstrates that Obama is leaving behind chances to work with the Republican-controlled Congress to help the economy.

"Snare decisions don't help laborers. Rather, they spook laborers into tolerating unionization as quick as could reasonably be expected. That is not master specialist. That is star union, and there's a huge distinction," McCarthy said in an announcement.

However Obama said the new principles were "sound judgment, unassuming changes to streamline the voting procedure for people who needed to join a union." If laborers need to join a union, "they ought to have the capacity to do as such, and we shouldn't be making it incomprehensible for that to happen," he said.

Obama additionally declared he would hold a summit on specialist's rights at the White House this fall. "Some piece of what we need to do is to verify that we give specialists the ability to have their voices listened, to have some impact in the working environment, to verify that they're accomplices in building up the U.S. economy, and that development is expansive based, and that everyone is profiting pretty much as everyone is contributing," he said

Justin Bieber's super fans just can't Belieb how mean the Comedy Central roast was

While quite the vast majority of us found Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber pretty hilarious (especially anything to do with Martha Stewart and Ron Burgundy), many of Bieber’s hard-core fans, who are known as “Beliebers,” just couldn’t handle the fact that the comedy special got so mean. Seriously, they were very upset about it (and they were very concerned for JB himself):

US officials have launched an investigation into McDonald's after 28 employees in 19 different cities said they suffered injuries due to hazardous equipment and lax safety standards.

Some workers claimed they had been told to treat their injuries with condiments such as mustard and mayonnaise rather than medicinal cream.
A McDonald's spokeswoman said the firm would review the allegations.
The company could face fines of up to $70,000 (£47,000) for each violation.
The complaints by McDonald's employees were filed in the past few weeks to the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and publicised by the Fight for $15 group, which campaigns for better wages and conditions for fast food workers.

Elisha Cuthbert Flirts Up a Storm on Fashion Magazine’s April 2015 Cover

She’s come a long way since her “24” days and Elisha Cuthbert looks marvelous on the front of the April 2015 issue of Fashion magazine.
In her cover story, the “Happy Endings” actress talks about her evolving relationship with fashion- “I can’t believe how fearless I was. Under the age of 25, I didn’t care what I wore. Now I sit in front of the mirror and think, ‘What lipstick should I wear?’ I just have much more knowledge. It can make you insecure.”
Elisha also discusses the most awkward film she’s made thus far- “The Girl Next Door [released in 2004] took me so far out of my comfort zone. The provocativeness that I had to exude in that film was daring… especially at my age at that time. I was twenty and I barely knew who I was. It was weird. I looked very attractive and the clothes were bringing out this sexy side of me. It was challenging to have to get to a place where I was okay with what I was wearing—especially when I was literally in fishnets and a bra and underwear. It was really tough.”

A spoof advert for IS starring Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson has caused a furore on Twitter.

Johnson plays a girl saying goodbye to her father in the skit, which appeared on US TV show Saturday Night Live.
She appears to be leaving for college, but it transpires she is actually joining the Islamic terrorist group.
"It's just Isis, dad," she says. One Twitter user wrote: "I found NOTHING funny about that ISIS #SNL skit. Sorry but no laughing matter. Ever."
Later in the sketch, Taran Killam, who plays the father, tells the IS recruiter to "take good care" of his daughter, to which the IS member replies: "Death to America."
The skit ran shortly after the news broke that three British schoolgirls had run away from home to join the terrorist organisation.
On Twitter, another user, Mike Smith, wrote: "Make sure you send a copy to the families of the people murdered... See if they think it's funny. SNL went to far for a laugh."
But some users were more supportive. Pam Bell wrote: "Seems this may have been controversial, but SNL does this better than anyone, & if we don't laugh, they win."

England and Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Durham Police said a 27-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16. An officer later said he had been bailed.
Sunderland AFC said he had been suspended pending the outcome of the police investigation.
News of the arrest of a Premier League footballer was revealed earlier in The Sun newspaper.
The Sunderland-born winger joined Middlesbrough's youth academy and made his senior debut at the age of 17, in a 2005 Uefa Cup game.
He was loaned out to Leeds United then Watford, returned to Middlesbrough and then in 2010 made a £7m move to Manchester City.

Google has changed its mind about forcing sexually explicit blogs on its Blogger platform to become private.

Earlier this week, the firm warned bloggers that blogs containing sexually explicit images and videos would be made private on 23 March.
After "a ton of feedback" the firm has decided to continue with its current policy instead, it says.
Explicit blogs must continue to identify themselves as "adult".
This means a warning page is shown before readers are transferred to the site.
Google also reserves the right to add an "adult" tag to Blogger blogs if it feels the description is appropriate.
The "acceptable use" policy link currently redirects users to a posted message which reads:
"We've had a ton of feedback, in particular about the introduction of a retroactive change (some people have had accounts for 10+ years), but also about the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.
"So rather than implement this change, we've decided to step up enforcement around our existing policy prohibiting commercial porn."
As long as bloggers have correctly identified their adult blogs they need take no further action, the message adds.
Google had originally proposed forcing existing explicit blogs to go private from next month, and said it would potentially take down blogs created after its 23 March deadline
