Lagos High Court Dismisses Saraki's Application


The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has released a crucial human rights application documented by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, looking to stop his trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja.Presiding Justice Ibrahim Buba held that his court did not have ward to engross the application.

The Senate President had sued the Attorney-General of the Federation, the EFCC, ICPC, the Inspector-General of Police and the Code of Conduct Bureau.

In the suit, Senator Saraki requested that the court proclaim that his arraignment and trial before the CCT miss the mark concerning the African Charter on Human and Peoples Right and Section 36 of the Nigerian Constitution which ensures his entitlement to reasonable listening to and individual freedom.

He likewise requested that the court invalidate the charges of false resources revelation pending against him.

The Senate President likewise needed the court to limit the respondents from welcoming, capturing or arraigning him on the premise of any claim emerging from his residency as Governor of Kwara State from 2003 - 2011.to

The court said that the issues couldn't be determined in Lagos and struck out the suit for absence of locale.
