teenager charged with killing his math teacher

The homicide trial of an adolescent accused of killing his math instructor finished early Tuesday when he told his legal advisor he was "going to blast" and declined to retreat into the court.

Denise Regan, an attorney for 16-year-old Philip Chism, told the Salem Superior Court judge that her customer was shaking, jerking and murmuring and enlightened her "he's regarding to blast and ... wouldn't like to hurt anybody.

Witnesses were portraying a percentage of the blood-recolored proof for the situation at the time.

The judge at initially called a break, then finished procedures around an hour sooner than planned in the wake of attempting unsuccessfully to identify with Chism himself. He then required a mental assessment.

Chism, who had moved to Massachusetts from Clarksville, Tennessee, in a matter of seconds before beginning secondary school, has argued not blameworthy to murder and different charges in the October 2013 killing of 24-year-old Danvers High School instructor Colleen Ritzer. Chism was 14 at the time.

Regan said in court Monday that Chism killed Ritzer yet isn't criminally mindful on the grounds that he is rationally sick.

It was not clear when procedures would continue. Jury choice was postponed a few weeks while Chism experienced a competency assessment.

Ritzer's mom affirmed before Tuesday about the day her little girl was killed.

Peggie Ritzer said her little girl had a reliable routine and returned home each day at 3:30 p.m.

When she didn't that day, the family at first thought she had made different arrangements or been in a mischance.

They started to stress when she wasn't home for supper, wasn't noting her cellphone and hadn't posted on Facebook. They had a go at reaching her companions and different instructors.

Her spouse went to the secondary school and discovered his little girl's auto still in the parking area.

"By then we began to get extremely agitated," Peggie Ritzer said.

Police later discovered her body in the forested areas behind the school.

The safeguard did not interview Peggie Ritzer.
