Common Society Groups Protest Against Social Media Bill

A coalition of Civil Society Organizations have driven a challenge to the National Assembly requesting the stopping of the section of a hostile to Social

The Senate a week ago Wednesday went to second perusing, a bill looking for a long time detainment with an alternative of two million naira fine for any Nigerian who posts damaging proclamations on Social Media.

The dissidents say by criminalizing free discourse, the bill specifically negates the general affirmation of Human Rights and the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.

The dissenters requested to meet with the initiative of the Senate to squeeze home their interest.

An appointment from the Senate met with the dissidents and guaranteed to exhibit their requests to the Senate.
