Not content with three strikers battling for structure before objective, Chelsea need to add a fourth to turn their weak season around - and Wayne Rooney is the man they need, at any rate as indicated by Metro. In spite of Rooney scoring only two Premier League objectives so far this season, the Blues are currently the top picks to secure the England chief's mark in January. To be reasonable to Chelsea, Rooney's two objectives is more than flow advances Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao have scored in the alliance joined this season. Everton, PSG, Arsenal and Spurs are likewise all been connected with Rooney.

Lukas Podolski is wanted by Turkish side Galatasaray

Reports claim Galatasaray representatives have flown to North London to coax Arsenal into selling either forward.
Campbell is the more likely of the pair to leave the Emirates this summer after being valued at around £8m.
But if Galatasaray meet Podolski's steep £20m valuation, Arsene Wenger would surely loosen his grip on the 29-year-old.
Cesare Prandelli would have to smash his sides current £16.5m transfer record to land the German World Cup winner, but could be tempted considering the exit of Didier Drogba.
Arsenal's German trio Mesut Ozil, Podolski and Per Mertesacker have now returned from their World Cup exploits, and are in contention for Saturday's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Gunenrs fans will be unwilling to lose Podolski, the charismatic forward appears to be at the epicentre of the excellent team-spirit around the Emirates.
And yesterday's 3-0 demolition of Manchester City only strengthens the warm glow Wenger has instilled.
Despite three different loan spells away from Arsenal, the French veteran manager has renewed faith in Campbell's abilities, he said: "He is good on the ball, creative and collectively as well he has a good balance between individual skill and collective attitude - that's not easy to find and there is no reason to let him go."
Yet more reasons to be cheerful for the Gunners.

Time to say goodbye: Kolo-Toure-close-Liverpool-exit-Trabzonspor-target

Trabzonspor hope to finalise the £1.5m signing of Liverpool defender Kolo Toure after president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu said: 'We have agreed terms with Kolo Toure and we will bring him to the club.'
Toure, 33, has been offered a two year deal worth £40,000 a week after tax. However, he played in a behind closed doors game against Burnley on Monday and is considering his options.
The defender has one year left on contract but Liverpool will consider offers after the Anfield club signed Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

Liverpool are considering a move for the veteran Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o as they look to increase Brendan Rodgers’ forward options before the transfer deadline.
The 33-year-old is a free agent having been released by Chelsea at the end of last season and has held talks with Ajax over a move to Amsterdam. Liverpool have not made an offer to the former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Internazionale goalscorer as yet, and are discussing several names, but Eto’o has emerged as a possible target.
The striker is believed to have earned £7m from his one-year deal at Stamford Bridge, an annual drop of £13m from his contract with Anzhi Makhachkala, but his wage demands are unlikely to deter Liverpool given the player’s availability on a free transfer.
Rodgers remains determined to add a striker to his squad before 1 September having sold Luis Suárez to Barcelona for £75m and seen a proposed £8m move for Loïc Rémy of Queens Park Rangers collapse on medical grounds.
Liverpool inquired about Radamel Falcao at Monaco, but were informed he would only leave the principality for Real Madrid and for an exorbitant loan fee, and are approaching the new Premier League season with an attack comprising Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini. A £14m deal has been agreed with Sunderland for Borini, though he has been reluctant to make a permanent exit from Anfield.
