Cristiano Ronaldo merits his place in Real Madrid history in the wake of turning into their record La Liga scorer, supervisor Rafael Benitez says.
The Portugal forward's five objectives in a 6-0 win at Espanyol on Saturday took him to 230 Spanish top-flight objectives, passing Raul's record of 228.
"The numbers represent themselves," Benitez said of Ronaldo, who has come to his aggregate in 204 matches.
"Somebody who scores such a large number of objectives has a spot in the history books."
Benitez included: "I trust that he can keep on adding to his goalscoring record for his own advantage and that of the team."Ronaldo is the fourth most astounding scorer in La Liga history - with Barcelona's Lionel Messi driving the path on 289 objectives going into this current weekend's apparatuses. The Real Madrid forward, however, has been the division's top scorer in each of the last two seasons, completing the 2014-15 crusade with 48 association objectives.
