No less than 10 individuals were murdered and scores more harmed, police say, after two traveler trains crashed in the German condition of Bavaria.

The head-on accident happened close Bad Aibling, a spa town around 60km (37 miles) south-east of Munich.

The vehicle priest said the trains had collided with one another while both going at around 100km/h (62mph).

Crisis groups, some winched in by helicopter, worked for quite a long time to free losses from the destruction.
