South African President Zuma delays Iran trip

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma has deferred a booked excursion to Iran, his office said on Wednesday, without giving any motivation to the delay.

"The state visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran by President Jacob Zuma, as reported not long ago, has been deferred to a later date," Zuma's office said in an announcement.

Pretoria is considering building an oil refinery that will handle Iranian rough to reinforce its petrol supply and decrease its reliance on outside organizations.

South Africa's delegate president went by Iran in November to investigate open doors for co-operation in the vitality part.
