Two days subsequent to finishing a 30-year jail sentence for a 1984 homicide conviction, a New Jersey man purportedly killed his 64-year-old mother.
On Wednesday, Steven Pratt, 47, confessed to homicide, conceding his part in his mom's beating passing, police say.
An announcement from prosecutors got by PEOPLE affirms Pratt, an Atlantic City occupant who lived with his mom, over and again struck his mom Gwendolyn Pratt in the head the morning of Oct. 12, 2014. Police reacted to the Pratt home that morning and discovered Gwendolyn's dead body inside.
The announcement says officers promptly took Pratt into care and a post-mortem later uncovered the casualty kicked the bucket from gruff power injury to the head.

On Oct. 10, 2014, Pratt was discharged from a New Jersey jail, where he'd spent the past three decades for the lethal shooting of Michael Anderson.
When he was 15, Anderson discovered Pratt smoking pot with companions and stood up to the kid.
