Yemeni Jews acquired to Israel mystery mission



A portion of the final Jews in war-torn Yemen have been acquired to Israel a mystery mission.

The Jewish Agency, which is in charge of Jewish migration to Israel, said 19 individuals had landed as of late, among them a rabbi conveying a 500-year-old Torah scroll.


The non-benefit association said about 50 Jews had stayed in Yemen.

Since 1948, 51,000 Jews have emigrated to Israel from Yemen, which has one of the world's most established Jewish groups.

All of them were conveyed to Israel as a major aspect of Operation Magic Carpet in 1949 and 1950.In late years, around 200 Jews have left as assaults against the Jewish group have expanded and the nation has slipped into war.
