Nigerian troops have restored commonality to Kareto town in northern Borno State, upper east Nigeria, subsequent to repulsing delayed assault on the town by the radical Boko Haram group.


Armed force Spokesperson, Sani Usman, had on Monday declared that the Nigerian troops were occupied with an overwhelming firearm battle with individuals from the dread gathering.

The Army said that "the troops effectively repulsed the assault and killed a significant number of the terrorists after almost 10 hours of fight."

Kareto is 120 kilometers north of Maiduguri and Monday's assault by Boko Haram came at once the Nigerian military is increasing its attack on the terrorist bunch.

In a talk with Channels Television on Tuesday morning, Colonel Usman said, "The Boko Haram terrorists assaulted, we called for fortification from our troops from 7 Division and additionally the Nigerian Air Force and they rose to the event.
