MLS trouble stunned Gerrard

LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard uncovered he was stunned by the trouble of playing in MLS in his first season.

The new battle starts on Sunday, with the Galaxy's first match coming at home to DC United after they neglected to hold their MLS Cup crown in 2015.

Previous Liverpool skipper Gerrard joined halfway through the season and was awed by the standard of play, while finding the conditions in a few sections of the United States an especially testing perspective to adapt to.

"There were a few stuns and astonishes when you leave out and about," the 35-year-old told Sky Sports.

"The elevation, the mugginess, the length of travel, and clearly getting used to fellow team members and new strategies, it's an alternate method for playing. I will surely be better for the highs and lows of last season.

"The level is surely a considerable measure superior to anything individuals think. You have an assessment when you watch this amusement on the eye and it's exceptionally aggressive. There are some great players in the association, great administrators and great strategies.

"I've examined diverse instructional meetings at LA Galaxy that I've never done as such perhaps one day I can utilize distinctive bits and bounces that I've learnt here."

In the wake of losing in the first round of the play-offs a year ago, the Galaxy endured a pounding 4-0 total annihilation to Santos Laguna in the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Gerrard, however, is resolved to guarantee he has a trophy to appear for his spell in America.

He proceeded with: "Win the MLS Cup or go close [is the aim]. A year ago we left the first round of the play-offs, the wheels tumbled off towards the end of the group crusade.

"We yielded an excess of objectives and we got a truly dubious away tie against Seattle in the play-offs. We have to position ourselves better in the group before it goes to the play-offs, then it's somewhat of a lottery.

"We have to perform and be reliable in thump out rivalry. Ideally I'll run home with a trophy."

Gerrard has already recommended that 2016 is prone to be his last season, yet he wouldn't like to surge any choice to resign.

"I would prefer not to close any entryways and I would prefer not to settle on any ill-advised choices since where I sit now regardless I feel sound," he said.

"Regardless I feel fit, despite everything I sense that I could play in many levels in the diversion so where I sit now I'm not prepared to resign. Will I be prepared in 10 or 11 months' opportunity? We'll need to keep a watch out."
