Celtic have named Brendan Rodgers as their new director.

The previous Liverpool, Swansea City, Reading and Watford manager has marked a 12-month moving contract to supplant Ronny Deila, who withdrew the Scottish champions toward the end of the season.

Rodgers, 43, left Anfield in October after over three years in charge."I will give all that I have and do whatever I can to bring our supporters energizing, enlivening and winning football," said the Northern Irishman.

"The club has been fit as a fiddle lately and has gathered flatware routinely amid this time.

"My goal now, obviously, is to proceed with this work, to keep us at the top and again make our imprint in Europe."
