Weapons store director Arsene Wenger has relieved apprehensions that Francis Coquelin could confront an extensive spell on the sidelines, portraying the midfielder's knee damage as "short-term".


Coquelin was constrained off in the principal half of Arsenal's 3-0 Premier League win over Chelsea on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Frenchman missed around two months of last season with a knee damage, however Wenger played down feelings of dread of a repeat in front of Arsenal's Champions League match against Basle on Wednesday.

"Francis Coquelin is out for the amusement tomorrow - it ought to be a transient harm. The sweep was very positive," Wenger told columnists on Tuesday.
