Nigeria's sacked national security guide, Sambo Dasuki, has showed up in court in the capital, Abuja, accused of illicitly having weapons.
Nigeria's knowledge office said it had seized guns amid a strike on his properties in July.
Mr Dasuki argued not liable to the charge and was given safeguard.
He is the first senior authority of the previous government to be charged since President Muhammadu Buhari was initiated in May.
