More than 70 specialists and scholastics are requiring a prohibition on handling in rugby matches played in UK and Irish schools.

In a public statement to clergymen, they say wounds from this "high-affect crash game" can have deep rooted results for youngsters.

They contend 66% of wounds in youth rugby and most blackouts are down to handles and urge schools to move to touch and non-contact rugby.

Supporters say rugby assembles character and different structures are less testing.

The worries have been raised as a seven-year program headed by the Rugby Football Union is on focus to acquaint rugby with a million youngsters in state schools crosswise over England.
